I bought this for a home school and although when I got it I thought it was a mistake after I stuck it to a old mirror and hung it I was very surprised at how well it took chalk. writes great erases pretty good. only thing is how often it needs to be washed down. I use glass cleaner and so far no problems.
As a note: watch for bubbles when you mount it.

I placed the whole roll on one wall in my daughter's room and she loves it! It is a little hard to go perfectly straight and not to make any air bubbles but with patience I was able to place it very nicely, I added some decorative trimming around it to make it look prettier.

What a great invention! I Loooove it! I put some on my teenage daughters bedroom door and wrote her chores on it. It would make a great gift too. Fun and useful, you can beat that!

I was skeptical about the quality of the chalkboard but was willing to try the contact paper chalkboard. It arrived earlier than expected (which was great) and in great condition. It took me about 5-10 minutes to cover 16 x 34 inch area on my cupboards, getting bubbles out was a bit tricky and just took patience. As soon as I wiped it clean with a damp paper towel, I started writing our dinner menu. It works perfect and feels just like a regular chalkboard. Definitely pleasantly surprised!
While I was re-positioning it to get the bubbles out, it felt easy to lift and left no residue (which was one of my husband's main concern). I've only had it on for a day, so I'm not sure if the same will hold true in a couple months.
At this price, it's definitely worth it. My next project is to cut shapes and put them in our kids' bedrooms!

This stuff is not worth $39.99! I did a quick google search and found it from several teaching supply stores for $5.99! Don't waste your money here.
